Hike

The hike is one of the most important parts of the IYC. It takes place right at the beginning of the camp, where you will hike for several days with a small group of people. The hike is a possibility to push yourself physically and mentally and the group spirit accompanies you through the highs and keeps you going through the lows. You leave the campsite with a group of strangers and return home with a group of friends! Read more here.

Theme

Every year a theme accompanies us through the camp. It guides our discussions and leads to a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Many a nights are spent around the campfire to discuss the moral, ethical, economical and personal aspects of the theme. But the theme can also come back in forms of practical exercises, places around the campsite or in the daily open stage or in the daily soap! Read more here.

Workshops

During the camp you can pick a workshop where you can challenge yourself and develop new skills and talents. Previous workshops have included: theatre, cooking, sports, land art, music, circus, photography, and many more. Next to this, there are twice alternative workshops hosted by participants and staff. This means that anyone can come up with a one-day workshop, sharing your talents or ideas with others. Read more here.
