Until now we have 43 participants from 5 different nationalities, English, German, Belgian, Spanish and Dutch. We are still hoping for a few more nationalities and our PR is currently busy with sending flyers all over the world, sending e-mails to all our contacts and so on. |

In the last meeting we divided the functions amongst the staff members. Imre will be the coordinator from the Ascension-weekend. Brechtje and Caspar will take care of the technical service on the camp. Eva, Emma and Wouter will be the performers. Diederik is going to conduct the camp choir. The kitchen consists of Johannes, Rinke, Rosanne and Laura. Malcolm Allsop will take care of the religious moments on the camp. For health problems the participants can go to Jorinde, the nurse. |

The site is situated in the triangle of Firenze, Pisa and Bologna, and is closest to Bologna There are flights to all three of these cities, from where you can find trains to pull you up the mountains, and then the participants are just a little bus ride away from the spot where we will be waiting for them. In the itinerary that will be send to the participants in June will be more specific information about train and bus schedules. |
In the last weeks we didn’t just sit and hang around drinking coffee, no, we actually did something not so quite unimportant. With three of our staff members we went down to the snowy mountains of Italy to imagine what, without a metre of snow, in high summer, would be a nice place for this years IYC. After a week of pushing our vehicle over the slippery roads of Toscana and Emilia-Romagna we came home with the answer to our quest: We will have a beautiful campsite!
Close to the highest peaks of the Apennine Mountains, between Bologna and Firenze, our camp will be situated in an area full of forests and picturesque villages. There are lakes to swim, peaks to climb, valleys to follow and trees for shadow in the hottest hours of the day. |

Since January 2010 Jorinde van der Meijden and Rosanne Schenk are responsible for the secretariat of the organisation. We took over this responsibility from Caspar van der Zanden who had this task the last year.

As everyone can see on the website we have an IYCamp Facebook-account and a Twitter-account. The main purpose of this Facebook-account is to create a place where there is time and space for sharing profound ideas and essential experiences. On Facebook we also publish items about the progress of the preparations for everyone who’s interested.

We are already receiving several applications. We reached our limit for Dutch participants. Unfortunately all the people from Holland who apply for the IYCamp will be placed on a waiting list and will be contacted when there is a spare place.
We hope to have a lot of different nationalities on the camp this year. Last year we had more than 10 nationalities and we’re trying to bring even more people from different countries together the coming year. |
This year there were two places available for new staffmembers. We had a lot of good applications of very enthusiastic people. We had to make a choice and decided to take Eva Trapman and Rinke van Diermen with us in our team for the camp of 2010. We welcome them and we are looking forward to work together with them in this group.
Now the staff exists of Wouter ten Böhmer, Brechtje Halbertsma, Imre Ploeg, Laura Ffrench, Eva Trapman, Johannes van der Meijden, Emma Ffrench, Diederik ten Böhmer, Rinke van Diermen, Caspar van der Zanden, Rosanne Schenk and Jorinde van der Meijden. And Malcolm Allsop is going to join us as the priest.
We are now, with a team of 13 people, busy with organising a new fantastic camp. At the moment we are dividing the functions and are thinking about the theme of the coming camp. |
The new website is in the air, www.iycamp.com! Because we have a new site, there was some trouble with opening it. Temporarily it’s not possible to log in on the website but we are working on it. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
