New Website
The new website is in the air, www.iycamp.com! Because we have a new site, there was some trouble with opening it. Temporarily it’s not possible to log in on the website but we are working on it. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
But know we have a really beautiful and good-working site with all the information about the organisation, the camp of 2010, previous camps with pictures and music.
Campsite
This year the IYCamp will take place in the beautiful mountains of Italy.
We chose, together with the participants of the IYCamp 2009 in Latvia, this southern country for its rich culture and its nice comfortable climate. Located in a remote area, surrounded by nature, the IYCamp provides time and opportunity to share ideas, feelings and experiences. We have a few options for a campsite in the north of Italy. A few of the staffmembers will visit these campsites near Bologna were the IYCamp took place in 2002 and 2003.
Staff
This year there were two places available for new staffmembers. We had a lot of good applications of very enthusiastic people. We had to make a choice and decided to take Eva Trapman and Rinke van Diermen with us in our team for the camp of 2010. We welcome them and we are looking forward to work together with them in this group.
Now the staff exists of Wouter ten Böhmer, Brechtje Halbertsma, Imre Ploeg, Laura Ffrench, Eva Trapman, Johannes van der Meijden, Emma Ffrench, Diederik ten Böhmer, Rinke van Diermen, Caspar van der Zanden, Rosanne Schenk and Jorinde van der Meijden. And Malcolm Allsop is going to join us as the priest.
We are now, with a team of 13 people, busy with organising a new fantastic camp. At the moment we are dividing the functions and are thinking about the theme of the coming camp.
Applications
We are already receiving several applications. We reached our limit for Dutch participants. Unfortunately all the people from Holland who apply for the IYCamp will be placed on a waiting list and will be contacted when there is a spare place.
We hope to have a lot of different nationalities on the camp this year. Last year we had more than 10 nationalities and we’re trying to bring even more people from different countries together the coming year.
Facebook and Twitter
As everyone can see on the website we have an IYCamp Facebook-account and a Twitter-account. The main purpose of this Facebook-account is to create a place where there is time and space for sharing profound ideas and essential experiences. On Facebook we also publish items about the progress of the preparations for everyone who’s interested.
Also on Twitter you can follow the developments of the IYCamp.
Email addresses
We use two email addresses: secretariat@iycamp.com and info@iycamp.com. If you have questions concerning the applications, campfee, terms and conditions you can send an email to secretariat@iycamp.com. If you questions specifically addressed to Johannes van der Meijden, the coordinator of the IYCamp 2010, you can send an email to info@iycamp.com.
Secretariat
Since January 2010 Jorinde van der Meijden and Rosanne Schenk are responsible for the secretariat of the organisation. We took over this responsibility from Caspar van der Zanden who had this task the last year.
Besides contacting us by email it is also possible to reach us on the following number:
